This was one of my college "text books" back in the day. I was recently sent very watered down version of this book and quite frankly I was appalled at how so much was removed from the undergraduate studies for Business, Government Administration and Civics majors regarding the recognition, understanding and implementation of logic and contemporary rhetoric in today's world. I had to buy this particular edition to actually conduct a true comparison between the two texts. And the sad part is the latest "edition" of this particular text, the most current one is allegedly the primary text for the graduate student who sent it to me. I took the same course she's taking in my freshman year of college. I guess times have truly changed. One would have expected the text to have been introduced to the students sooner than later if our higher education was evolving properly. At least logically.
